November is here, and 2018 has been a very busy year at Hunter Land Management. In particular, the last couple of months have been very exciting, from Awards evenings to conferences, we’ve had an eventful time.

On September 12th, we attended the 21st Annual Australasian Weed Conference in Sydney, which was the largest in the last ten years. Over 360 delegates congregated to discuss the latest developments and technology in weed management practices. We walked away with plenty of great ideas, as we had the opportunity to listen to presentations and hear about practical research. We are looking forward to implementing this in the field for the benefit of our clients.

In other exciting news, we were recently named as Finalists in the Professional Services category of the Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards. We attended the awards evening on September 21st, and whilst we didn’t walk away with the trophy, it was an honour to be recognised for our business success amongst such strong, local “competition.” We had a lovely evening networking with others in the local business community and look forward to many more awards events in the future.

Finally, in October we were proud Silver Sponsors for the 2018 NSW Vertebrate Pest Management Symposium. This was held October 16-18 in Coffs Harbour. We were very excited to showcase our Hogeye Cameras to those in the industry in NSW, and we were also able to speak with others on the various additional services offered by Hunter Land Management.  There were over 200 people in attendance, with both government and non-government backgrounds. The theme was ‘People, planning and practice’, and the symposium covered many new developments within science, policy and practice. We had a great time networking with those in our industry and sharing what Hogeye can do to save landowners time and money when it comes to vertebrate pest management.

We will continue to stay involved in conferences and symposiums in order to stay on top of the latest technology and developments within our industry. This allows us to provide our clients with a high-quality, cost effective service. We were honoured to have been named as Finalists in the local Hunter Business Awards, and we’re sure there will be more awards nights in the future as we work hard to provide professional land management services to our clients, helping them to protect and reclaim their land. Stay tuned to our blog and newsletters for more updates on what’s happening at HLM.
